Audi just introduced a mega-city vehicle called the Audi A1 E-Tron at the Geneva Motor Show. As an environment-friendly vehicle, it has an electric drive system that enables it to have a range of more than 31 miles. Aside from that, it has a mini combustion engine that recharges the battery once the energy is already depleted.

 

 

When it comes to performance, the Audi A1 E-Tron can go from 0-62 mph in just 10.2 seconds. Its top speed meanwhile can go as fast as 80 mph. Though the Audi A1 E-Tron is not as fast as most fuel-powered cars, it’s a zero-emission vehicle for the first 31.7 miles.

 

To increase its range on the other hand, it can rely on a Wankel engine that powers a generator so it can produce extra 15kw.

When you check out its underhood, the Audi A1 Quattro hybrid is powered by a 1.4-liter Turbo FSI petrol engine and a lithium-ion battery power electric motor. When the fuel engine and electric motor work together, power consumption and emissions are reduced by as much as 15 percent.

 

In spite of its small size, the Audi A1 Quattro hybrid can deliver 5,500 rpm and it can even accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 7.8 seconds. Aside from that, this environment-friendly vehicle can go as fast as 124 mph. The best part is, its total fuel economy is a whopping 57.6 mpg.
